Turning Virtual Care on and off

My first two jobs out of veterinary school were equine ambulatory and a mixed large animal practice that served the Amish community. Some of my most memorable and miserable stories happened while I was practicing after-hours.

I remember the relief I felt when I took a job that did not require any on-call duty.  No more ER calls in the middle of the night.

Because of my desire to preserve my freedom and not sacrifice my family life to my practice, I needed a virtual care platform that I could be turned off in real time.  Medici provides me that control.  I can turn the app on and off in real time and my clients can see if I am available or away.  If I am not available for a consult they can text one of the other doctors or can send a message that is held in the cloud until I return.  So much better than the old days!

Medici is off during basketball games : )
